The canon 24- 70mm is a great lens that impressed me with its very good focal range. Also when i comes to image quality I'd have to say that this is one of the better lenses I have used. The image quality is also comparable to the 70 - 200 2.8L. The build quality is the other amazing part of this lens. It is very solid, and the the moisture resistance is also very helpful. Even in rainy conditions the lens performs at a very high standard. Canon lenses show why they are the best with the 24-70mm as a perfect example. (Posted on 3/18/10)

Yes this lens is expensive, yes its heavy..but it is a must have for serious photographers. After seeing the quality this lens puts out, I don't know how I shot without it to be quite honest. Great for portraits. I had also tried it with food shots, and works fantastic for macro close ups!!! If this lens is not on my camera, it is definitely in my camera bag with me where ever I go.
